The Major Arcana ends with this pair, and together they carry its finale into a reading. Judgement (XX) is the awakening: the trumpet that summons you to rise from an old life, the honest reckoning that precedes rebirth. The World (XXI) is the completion: the dance inside the laurel wreath, a cycle fulfilled with nothing left owed. One is the call; the other, the arrival.

Appearing together, they mark endings of real magnitude — graduations in the widest sense. A long chapter (a career phase, a healing process, a formation of identity) is concluding, and concluding well. Judgement asks you to consciously acknowledge what the chapter meant — its lessons, its debts forgiven, its old self released — so that The World's completion is integration rather than mere stopping. What follows a closure this clean is, in the Arcana's own logic, a new Fool's journey.

A relationship reaching resolution at a deep level: either a bond maturing into its complete, settled form — often after honest reckoning with the past — or a definitive, karmically clean closure with an old love. Either way, the past stops running the show.

The culmination signature: the degree finished, the venture sold, the mastery recognized. Also a call to a vocation — work that feels like what you were meant for. Accept the summons; the cycle supports it.

Judgement reversed resists the reckoning — an old identity clung to past its season. The World reversed marks a completion stalling short of done: loose ends, an unclaimed diploma. The remedy for both is the same: finish consciously, then release.

Weight the reading toward scale — these two close the Major Arcana, so look for the multi-year arc concluding, not the weekly errand. In outcome positions they are as final and as favorable as closure gets. Follow-up readings often begin, fittingly, with The Fool.
